Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Director, Emergency Management, the Coordinator, Emergency Preparedness is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing activities in emergency management so as to mitigate, prepare, respond to and recover from natural and man-made disasters. Accountable for emergency planning, training and exercising those plans to prepare management and staff for responding to and recovering from disasters. Prepares, writes, updates, edits, and reviews emergency plans, standard operating guidelines, and job aids. Conducts, participates, and evaluates emergency management exercises and drills which test the protocols and procedures. Assists in maintaining professional relationships with all University Health leadership. Serves as a liaison for University Health with UT Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, City of San Antonio, Bexar County and area hospitals as required. Serves as a member of the University Health Emergency Management Subcommittee, assisting in the planning, exercising, and implementation of University Health emergency preparedness and disaster planning. Promotes the University Health Customer Relation’s Policy.
 
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.  Public speaking experience a plus. Experience using computers, Microsoft Office software programs, and other web-related applications is required.
