Our Head Office is based in Stockton-on-Tees and is home to our administrative support teams, engineering & maintenance support team & energy services teams. The Offices are located on the river Tees with close access to walks, shops and restaurants.
The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for an Emergency Preparedness Advisor. The Emergency Preparedness Advisor will take an active role in planning and coordinating the emergency preparedness strategy for the Company. This includes developing and implementing emergency preparedness and security plans, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with legal and Company requirements.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
The roles and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Developing and updating emergency preparedness plans and establishing communication protocols.
• Evaluation of Crisis Management process within px and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluation of company / site compliance with COMAH Regs during all phases of responsibility and proposing mitigation measures as required.
• Assessing and understanding physical security risks taking into account of the special protection needs of critical infrastructure.
• Ensuring processes are in place that identify security threats and risks.
• Organising and delivering emergency response training for PX employees, contractors and clients.
• Supporting the Business Support Team response during emergencies to ensure the safety of personnel and the environment.
• Identifying potential hazards and developing plans to minimise risk.
• Collaborating with emergency services, external agencies and stakeholders to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
• Contributing to event investigation and post incident recovery efforts. Reviewing plans for improvements.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant emergency preparedness regulations and standards.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of emergency response efforts.
Minimum Requirements:
• A degree/professional qualification in continuity/ disaster/ emergency/ risk management
• Experience in a high-hazard industrial industry such as energy, oil & gas, or hydrocarbon processing.
• Experience of participation within the Crisis Management function of a large, matrix organisation.
• Knowledge and experience of the application of COMAH legislation, and the preparation / delivery of improvement plans.
• Experience of Silver / Gold Command, and emergency incident management within the petrochemical or high hazard sector.
· Experience of working in Emergency Planning or Business Continuity function in a similar, or complex organisations.
· Extensive knowledge of business continuity and emergency planning techniques, standards and application
· Experience in conducting investigations into events to identify root causes and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
· Experience of leading and emergency response including acting as Incident Manager and advising the Company's senior management in an emergency.
· Working in and contributing to cross discipline teams.
