JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-137020 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: San Antonio, Texas Coverage Period: Jan 01, 2027 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Various 12-hour shifts (days and nights) Hours Per Shift: 12 Number of Positions: 4-5 Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 80 patients per day Case Mix: Pediatric and general emergency medicine FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Pediatric subspecialty backup via transfer Support Staff Available: RNs, APPs, scribe technology PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 60 days Temporary Privileges Available: Yes JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, or Pediatric Emergency Medicine Licenses: Active TX license Certifications: ATLS, PALS Experience: Residency trained with documented treatment of at least 300 pediatric patients in last 12 months Other Qualifications: Case logs from previous 2 years, Medical Director screening DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency care to pediatric and adult patients across three CHRISTUS emergency centers. Work 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 coverage model. Collaborate with NP/PAs and support staff. Utilize Epic EMR and Abridge AI scribe technology for efficient documentation. Coordinate transfer of high-acuity pediatric patients to Children’s Hospital of San Antonio as needed.
