• Clinical Shift Schedule: Multiple shifts available including Day (7a–4p), Day 2 (9a–6p), Swing (3p–11p), and Night (7p–7a)

• Ongoing coverage required
• Flexible scheduling based on department needs
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adults
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 25,000 annual ED visits
• Admissions: Approximately 8% admissions or transfers
• Rounding: Not Included
• Phone Consults: No
• Case Mix: Broad emergency medicine case mix with most adult subspecialties available except Neurosurgery
FACILITY INFORMATION
• EMR System: Epic
• Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment
• Specialty Backup Available: Most adult subspecialties available except Neurosurgery
• Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Provider coverage from 12p – 9p along with nursing and ED support staff
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Overtime: Daily OT after 12 hours and Weekly OT after 168 hours
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: TBD
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Emergency patient evaluation and stabilization
• Airway management and intubation
• Suturing and wound management
• Fracture stabilization and splinting
• Emergency diagnostic evaluation and treatment
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Louisiana Medical License or willingness to obtain
• Board: ABEM, ABIM, or ABFM with Emergency Medicine experience
• DEA: Active DEA Certification
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Experience: Emergency Medicine experience required; EM residency trained physicians considered
• Other Qualifications: Fellowship training preferred; board certification preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department
• Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics
• Perform emergency procedures as required
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nurses, and hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the Epic EMR system
