We’re looking for dedicated Emergency Room Physicians to join our close-knit healthcare team at Cass Lake IHS in beautiful Cass Lake, Minnesota. This is a great long-term locum opportunity where your experience and quick thinking will have a real impact. You’ll be stepping into a role where every shift matters—providing urgent care to patients who need you most.

What We Offer:

  • A long-term ER MD/DO contract opportunity with flexible scheduling (day, night, and mid-shifts available)
  • Emergency Room experience as an MD is required—your expertise is key
  • Contract durations up to one year, with extension options available
  • 2–3 years of experience preferred; IHS facility experience is a plus
  • can work of any US license
  • Prior locum tenens experience is a bonus
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine preferred
  • Valid medical license from any U.S. state accepted
  • Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients required

Your Role Will Include:

  • Delivering immediate care to patients with acute conditions or trauma in the ER
  • Performing examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and making accurate diagnoses
  • Stabilizing critically ill or injured patients using emergency procedures
  • Collaborating closely with nurses and fellow healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Maintaining clear, detailed medical records and patient documentation
  • Making timely decisions regarding admissions, discharges, or referrals
  • Following hospital policies and regulatory standards
  • Staying current with emergency care protocols and advancements
  • Communicating compassionately with patients and their families
  • Participating in quality improvement efforts and helping refine ER procedures
  • Taking on additional related duties as needed in a dynamic ER environment

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid state medical license to practice in any state in the USA.
  • Possess and maintain at all times a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting.
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Commitment to continuous education and staying current with medical advancements.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Must be a US citizen living primarily in the United States
