We’re looking for a Payroll Supervisor to lead and optimize our payroll operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service. In this high-impact role, you’ll oversee payroll functions across multiple systems, guide faculty and staff compensation processes, and play a key role in improving workflows and resolving complex payroll issues. What You’ll Do
You will oversee and execute all aspects of payroll operations, including accurate and timely payroll processing, maintenance of payroll records in compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations, and administration of faculty compensation such as PRN pay, supplemental pay, incentives, and shift differentials. This role supervises labor distribution, faculty time and leave reporting (including FMLA and leave payouts), and year-end payroll processes such as regulatory reporting and W-2 and other tax form preparation. You’ll evaluate and improve payroll policies and workflows, manage payroll exceptions and deductions, and ensure compliance with evolving legislation. In partnership with Finance, you’ll support audits and implement process improvements, while also serving as a key resource to faculty and staff by addressing payroll questions and resolving discrepancies with professionalism and sound judgement.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
