The Division of Emergency Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s seeks talented, academically-oriented faculty members to join our team.

We have open positions for fellowship trained Pediatric Emergency Medicine faculty in an academic clinician track. Board eligibility or board certification in PEM is expected. Our Division includes over 45 faculty members with expertise and academic interests across the full range of our specialty including ultrasound, simulation, medical education, Improvement science, disparities, clinical trials, outcomes research, and global health. Clinically, the practice environment includes over 175,000 visits per year across 2 hospitals and 5 urgent care sites; we enjoy a busy level 1 trauma service and are strongly committed to excellence in resuscitation procedures and team-based work.

Academically, we anchor the PECARN HOMERUN node as a research center and have multiple international collaborations. Our research mission is vibrant with key focus areas including brain and behavior, infection and inflammation, and the science of everyday care (including standardization, informatics and resuscitation). The Division is supported by a robust infrastructure that includes a large team of research coordinators, analysts, and PhDs. Our academic model is enriched by a thriving fellowship program and an ongoing commitment to excellence in how we teach and learn together. Evidence of excellence as an educator, both in bedside teaching and in creation and delivery of didactic and experiential learning, is a core expectation for applicants. As CCHMC continues to grow its regional, national, and international presence, clinicians may be asked to work at locations outside of the Burnet Campus.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Medicine OR Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine OR equivalent
  • Unrestricted licensed physician
  • Approval/credentialing from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division
  • Completion of all required pre-employment activities
  • Assistant Professor appointment or eligibility
  • Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on the needs of the department
  • Preferred: Board certification
