Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Day Shift

Essential Healthcare Solutions is seeking a dependable and compassionate Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide safe, efficient, and patient-centered care in a low-acuity outpatient clinic setting. The EMT will assist providers and nursing staff with patient intake, basic clinical procedures, emergency response support, and daily clinic operations while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake procedures including vital signs, medical history collection, and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies within the clinic and initiate emergency protocols as needed.
• Provide basic life support (BLS) and emergency care within EMT scope of practice.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain clinic equipment and supplies.
• Ensure proper infection control and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Assist with patient flow and coordinate care with clinical team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Educate patients on basic care instructions and follow-up procedures as directed by providers.
• Support overall clinic operations and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current EMT certification/license required.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of EMT or healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in outpatient, urgent care, or clinical settings preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.
• Proficient in basic computer and EMR documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Work Environment

This position operates in a low-acuity outpatient medical clinic environment in the U.S. Virgin Islands The EMT will interact with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to support quality patient care and clinic efficiency.

Pay Rate: $21.00-$23.00
