Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572

Travel Required: No

The EMT will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons. The EMT will cover standby assignment, as operations require. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Education

  • Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)

Licenses

  • Health Care Provider Level C Certificate (HCP-C)
  • Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
  • Registered Paramedic (2011 National Occupational Competency Profile standards)
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)

  • Basic - Communication skills
  • Basic - Interpersonal skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to work and communicate in a cross cultural setting

Other Information

  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
  • May be eligible for Recruitment and/or Retention Incentives
  • Employer will endeavour to ensure on-call does not exceed 300 hours in 3 weeks
  • Davidson is located approximately 114 km south of Saskatoon
  • Must be able to respond to the ambulance within 10 minutes when on-call
