Number of Hours per Rotation: 56 shifts of 8 hours per 16 weeks

Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572

Travel Required: No

Emergency Medical Technicians are responsible for providing emergent and non-emergent Basic Life Support (BLS) services to the sick and injured, and for continuing to provide BLS medical services until responsibility for patient care can be assumed by hospital authorities or a Paramedic. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Licenses

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Other Education and Training

  • Pre-Hospital Care Program - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Level

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work independently

  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
