Overview

TRC is seeking an experienced Emergency Planner. This Emergency Management professional will be a trusted member of a team responsible for supporting a government client in the Boston Metro area and be responsible for leading the development and implementation of various plans, including emergency management plans, continuity plans, site-specific plans, and other documentation. They will lead the coordination, development and refinement of emergency planning documents, policies, and procedures. They will also support the emergency management and security teams during blue sky and incident planning and management, as well as assist with the development and implementation of staff trainings. This position will work closely with the deputy director of Emergency Management as a trusted member of the client’s team. This is an early- to-mid-career level position with robust growth potential.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of emergency planning, including hazard-specific emergency management plans, continuity of operations plans, and facility security & emergency action plans.
• Maintain a high standard of technical writing and editing.
• Support and/or facilitate and document incident After Action Reviews for significant incidents and events.
• Work closely with other external partner agencies to advance agency emergency planning and preparedness, including officials with local, state, and federal law enforcement, transportation, security, operations, facilities, or similar organizations.
• Establish and maintain strong familiarity and working relationships with appropriate operational contacts within multiple agency divisions.
• Represent the agency during activations of the State Emergency Operations Center agency EOCs.
• Participate in development and execution of tabletop and full-scale exercises.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership for Security and Emergency Management with the agency and TRC.
• Support the coordination of large-scale events and/or incidents such as high-traffic events within MA, and the City of Boston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in emergency management, public health, safety management, public administration or similar.
• 5-10 years of related experience in Emergency Planning and Management.
• Emergency Management certification(s) such HSEEP, MSP, CBCP, CEM, CDEP, NIMS, or in other related areas
• Proven ability to develop clear and organized written plans and procedures.
• Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in speaking and in writing for a diverse audience.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Highly detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
• Experience working with government agencies, non-profits, or community organizations.
• Knowledge of emergency planning, response, and recovery principles and techniques.
• Strong understanding of Incident Command System and National Incident Management System required.
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal emergency management regulations.
• Experience with incident command systems, emergency communications, and emergency operations centers.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to support multiple objectives.
• Ability to travel periodically to meet client and project needs.
• Ability to work in commercial and industrial settings and follow strict safety protocols.
• Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
• Ability to pass multiple detailed background checks (including criminal history) and drug screening.
• U.S. Citizen, with current driver’s license and ability to travel by air, bus, train, etc.
• Proficiency with standard MS Office tools, laptop computers, and/or related tools.
• The ability to occasionally walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, often in outdoor environments.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $100,963.20 - USD $122,408.00 /Yr.
