Job Description

A rare opening in a stable, established ECC team, at one of Melbourne's newest purpose-built hospitals.

AEC + Specialty Care Moorabbin is looking for an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian to join our team in Melbourne's south-east. This role doesn't come up often. Our ECC team is a stable one, and this position has opened because one of our senior ECC vets has been promoted internally. It's a genuine chance to join a settled, well-supported team rather than step into a revolving door.

Just over a year ago, we moved into a hospital purpose-built for ECC and referral work, backed by decades of trusted emergency care in the local community.

Why Moorabbin?

We're a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital, with ECC working alongside specialist surgery led by Dr Charles Kuntz and Dr Malcolm Jack, and specialist medicine led by Dr Chad Berman. Our clinicians, nurses and surgeons work closely together, so complex cases get managed as a team, communication stays strong, and support is always close by.

Our brand-new hospital has been purpose-built around the needs of ECC and referral patients, featuring:

  • 8 modern consultation rooms
  • 3 advanced surgical theatres
  • Dedicated Critical Care Unit
  • Separate dog and cat wards
  • Purpose-designed workflows to support efficient patient care
  • Modern facilities built to support high clinical standards and patient comfort

Whether you are an experienced ECC clinician or looking to take the next step into emergency medicine, you’ll receive a structured induction and ongoing clinical support to help you settle confidently into the role.

What you can expect

  • Full-time or part-time
  • A mix of day, night and weekend shifts
  • A stable, collaborative team, and colleagues who choose to stay
  • Close collaboration with experienced emergency clinicians, as well as surgery and medicine specialists
  • Strong internal CE and development opportunities, plus access to the annual Greencross Veterinary Symposium
  • Competitive remuneration, including after-hours loadings
  • Fair, considered rostering that respects life outside work

What we’re looking for

A veterinarian who:

  • Has solid ECC experience, or is an outstanding GP keen to build emergency skills
  • Communicates clearly, calmly and confidently
  • Works well as part of a collaborative clinical team
  • Values kindness, accountability and high-quality patient care

If you're after a stable team, experienced colleagues across ECC, surgery and medicine, and one of Melbourne's newest purpose-built veterinary hospitals, we'd love to hear from you.

Come and see the hospital, meet the team, or just have a confidential chat about what your next step could look like.
