THE OPPORTUNITY
This position sits within Corporate Functions, Procurement and represents a non‑traditional procurement role with a strong commercial and marketing focus.
The role is focused on maximizing the performance of marketing investments, rather than solely managing third‑party relationships.
Acting as a strategic partner to Marketing Directors, this role ensures that marketing spend delivers measurable ROI and material commercial performance. The position manages and optimizes key agency relationships, particularly Media Planning & Buying and Creative services, while also supporting Customer Trade programs and engaging customers where required.
The role operates within the broader Commercial Procurement organization and requires flexibility. Depending on evolving business priorities, the individual may be asked to support other marketing‑adjacent areas, such as Trade Marketing or Distributor engagement, leveraging prior commercial experience and a strong understanding of sales and marketing execution.
This is a permanent position and can be based in Madrid (Spain), Maidenhead (UK), Wiesbaden (Germany), Brussels (Belgium) or Amsterdam (Netherlands).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Marketing Investment Performance & Category Strategy
Act as a key member of the Commercial Procurement team, providing marketing expertise to align brand and trade initiatives. Lead the measurement and optimization of ROI for all A&P investments through clear frameworks, performance tracking, and value-driven category strategies. Define category taxonomy, manage baselines, and drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reductions in line with business objectives.
Supplier, Market & Cost Management
Manage strategic supplier relationships using core procurement principles, including contracting, negotiations, performance management, and benchmarking. Monitor market dynamics, leverage supplier insights, and implement cost optimization and cost-avoidance initiatives across Tier 2 and Tier 3 supply chains.
Stakeholder Partnership & Trade Collaboration
Serve as a trusted advisor to Marketing Directors and business leaders, supporting campaign execution through spend optimization, performance metrics, and contractual guidance. Ensure strong linkage between Customer Trade and Brand Marketing teams so investments are assessed holistically, balancing commercial impact, shopper behavior, and brand objectives.
Governance, Budget & Performance Management
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal standards, and ethical practices. Oversee A&P budgets across EMEAP, track performance, and identify opportunities to create budget favorability and reinvest savings. Deliver actionable analytics, dashboards, and insights for senior leadership.
Project Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Lead cross-functional category projects and virtual teams. Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and improve value delivery across marketing procurement activities.
Innovation & Capability Building
Drive innovation by scouting new tools, capabilities, and ways of working . Pilot and scale relevant solutions to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency, while embedding best practices within internal teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Finance, or a related field.
10-12 years of experience in sales, marketing, or commercial roles with exposure to marketing investment management.
Strong understanding of marketing execution, ROI measurement, and customer engagement.
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across functions.
Fluency in English.
SKILLS / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree preferred.
Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
Experience with SAP and/or Ariba is a plus.
Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated experience preferred.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
Ability to operate effectively across diverse markets and cultures.
Additional regional languages such as Arabic or French are an advantage.
