The Business Intelligence & Foresights Leader builds the capability that enables the organization to make faster, sharper, and more future-ready decisions.

By connecting business performance, market signals, customer trends, competitive intelligence, and future scenarios, this role converts complexity and uncertainty into clear strategic choices, recommendations, and actions.

The role acts as a trusted advisor to Commercial and Marketing leadership, ensuring insights do not stop at analysis but directly influence priorities, investments, portfolio decisions, and growth opportunities for our crop protection business.

This role is strategic, proactive, and decision-oriented.

Key Responsibilities

1. Turn Information into Intelligence

Create a connected view of business reality by integrating:

  • Internal performance data and KPIs
  • Customer and market insights
  • Competitive intelligence
  • External trends and emerging signals

Responsibilities:

  • Establish strategic KPI frameworks and intelligence systems.
  • Identify patterns, performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Separate signals from noise to focus leadership attention on what matters.

2. Turn Intelligence into Strategic Choices

Move beyond explaining the past to shaping the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop foresights, scenarios, and future outlooks.
  • Anticipate disruptions, opportunities, and strategic inflection points.
  • Translate uncertainty into clear options: What could happen? What does it mean? What choices do we have?

3. Turn Strategic Choices into Action

Ensure intelligence drives decisions, not presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear recommendations with: Business implications Trade-offs Risks Required actions
  • Facilitate strategic discussions, scenario planning, and competitive workshops.
  • Influence decisions on portfolio, investments, partnerships, and growth priorities.

4. Build the Intelligence Capability

  • Create an Insights-to-Action operating model.
  • Raise organizational capability in data-driven decision making.
  • Develop talent and standards for strategic analysis and storytelling.
  • Shift the organization from reactive reporting to proactive intelligence.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in business insights, strategy, analytics, management consulting, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and commercial teams through insights and recommendations.
  • Strong experience integrating quantitative performance data with qualitative market signals.
  • Demonstrated success in scenario planning, strategic analysis, and foresight creation.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills.
  • Trained and experienced workshop facilitator.
  • Highly creative and willing to challenge traditional thinking or existing processes.

Preferred

  • Experience in complex, matrixed, or multinational organizations.
  • Background in commercial, marketing, strategy, or finance leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with BI tools, dashboards, and analytical modeling (tool-agnostic focus).
  • Professional history in agriculture or life science industries.
  • Experience supporting portfolio strategy or multi-year planning.

  • Strong cross-functional influence without direct authority.
  • Bias toward clarity, action, and willingness to make a decision.
