Sourcing must be the key competency for any trading company. At Converge we pride ourselves on industry leading, innovative sourcing strategies. As an EMEA ARS Manager (Asset Recovery Service) you will be responsible for developing our supply chain by engaging and growing relationships with OEM and EMS customers to enable reciprocal trading. The ARS function at Converge is currently being redeveloped under a new Global strategy – it needs smart, hungry and driven people to help take it to the next level. Working closely with Senior Management this role not only offers an excellent opportunity in independent distribution but has management responsibility potential built in.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Prospect for new accounts and mapping out developed and assigned account base in order to pull in or create new product availabilities and to make proactive offers.

  • Lead a team as team manager.

  • Create supply and sales opportunities by utilizing the X-Trade system.

  • Using discretion and proper judgment in negotiating with customer to close purchase orders and overcome objections while maintaining appropriate business margins.

  • Under the direction of Management, make prompt business decisions about whether to buy particular assets in any particular situation.

  • Identify and create innovative purchasing opportunities.

  • Execution and understanding of the purchase order process.

  • Maintains and adheres to appropriate purchasing metrics and business requirements set forth by Management to include daily phone time, new prospect development, and maintains and enhances customer relationships.

  • Learns, understands and remains current on market conditions including, but not limited to, customer/vendor base and their availabilities and requirements, pricing and competitive alternatives.

  • Under the direction Management, develops and implements strategic purchase programs at key accounts.

  • Understand and ensure adherence to Converge credit requirements.

  • Consistently maintains and accurately updates the information database.

  • Work jointly with internal and external stakeholders to maximize buy-side and sell-side trading opportunities.

  • Develop new and unique customers and accounts.

  • Will be expected to perform the majority of the above duties under minimal supervision.

WHO YOU ARE?

  • You are smart, hungry and interested in the electronics industry.

  • You are self motivated with high personal standards of work.

  • You already have a minimum of 5 years purchasing experience in the electronics industry and you understand it’s developments and market cycles.

  • You are able to define, develop, nurture and maintain internal and external relationships.

  • Strong experience in team management.

  • You are fluent in English and German or Dutch

  • You know Microsoft Office at professional level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • You are loyal and proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • You are able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

  • You have strong communication and presentation skills.

  • You are ready for business travel (pending restrictions).
