Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented EMC Expert to join our team!
The EMC Expert willbe responsible forleading all aspects of electromagnetic compatibility, stray current management, earthing & bonding, and noise & vibration control for a major railway project. The role will provide technical direction across design, analysis, integration, testing, and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and contractual requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
Provide technical direction and expert advice on EMC, stray current, earthing & bonding, and noise & vibration throughout all project phases
Develop and implement EMC Management Plans, stray current control strategies, and earthing & bonding schemes in line with project requirements and international standards
Lead technical reviews, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, standards, and best practices
Identifytechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies related to EMC interference, stray current, and system performance
Review and approve technical specifications, design drawings, calculations, and engineering documentation
Apply advanced modelling and simulation tools to analyze and predict EMC, stray current, and noise & vibration performance
Coordinate integration of EMC, stray current, earthing & bonding, and noise & vibration requirements across all rail systems and infrastructure
Interface with multidisciplinary systems includingsignalling(ATC/CBTC), telecom, power, rolling stock, SCADA, and AFC to ensure system compatibility
Ensure alignment with Systems Engineering processes including requirements management, verification, and validation
Support integration with airport systems including passenger flow and baggage handling systems (BHS) where applicable
Contribute to rolling stock interface definition for express services to ensure EMC compatibility with infrastructure and systems
Oversee testing and commissioning activities including development of test plans, procedures, and compliance verification
Review and analyze test results and implement corrective actions to ensure system performance and compliance
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure integration and delivery within schedule and budget
Prepare and present technical reports, updates, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
Conduct regular reviews and quality audits to ensure accuracy and consistency of engineering deliverables
Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices
Ensure effective coordination and communication across all project stakeholders and disciplines
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from a recognized university
Minimum 15 years of experience in the AECO industry or relevant field
Minimum15+ years of experience in EMC, stray current, earthing & bonding, and noise & vibration engineering within the rail or transportation industry
Minimum 10 years of experience in rail projects and/or rail operations in the GCC or internationally
Proven experience on large-scale metro, subway, or Express Railway infrastructure programs
Extensive knowledge and demonstrable experience in managing technical scope of large-scale infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of EMC standards and regulations including IEC, EN, and IEEE standards
Experience in advanced modelling and simulation tools for EMC and system performance analysis
Strong understanding of rail systems integration includingsignalling, telecom, power, rolling stock, and operational interfaces
Experience in airport integration, including passenger flow and baggage handling systems (BHS) coordination
Familiarity with rolling stock definition for express services and associated system interfaces
Understanding of passenger and baggage planning interfaces within transport hubs
Experience in testing and commissioning, including development and execution of test plans and validation procedures
Experience in client-facing or consultancy roles with strong stakeholder management capabilities
Familiarity with systems engineering principles and practices
Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
Understanding of project delivery processes, construction management, and large-scale program execution
Knowledge of budget development, cost control, and commercial considerations
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Ability to interpret complex technical documents and provide clear recommendations
Ability to work independently and within a multi-organizational and multidisciplinary environment
Professional certification in EMC, Systems Engineering, or Project Management is an advantage
GCC experience is preferred
