Job Description

The Supplier Quality Engineer – Production Support is responsible for eliminating supplier-related impacts across all technologies on Embraer’s production process. The role is primarily focused on acting directly with suppliers to define technical dispositions and implement containment actions at the production site, ensuring continuity, safety, and product conformity. Also, evaluates suppliers’ internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation.

This position plays a key role as the interface between Production and Suppliers, driving rapid response, cross-functional coordination, and sustainable corrective actions.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Act as the main Supplier Quality focal point for Production Support, addressing supplier-related nonconformities that impact the production line.
  • Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal pro-actively with work-related problems.
  • Trigger and manage supplier engagement for technical dispositions, root cause analysis, and immediate containment actions, both remotely and on-site.
  • Coordinate closely with internal interfaces such as Production, Manufacturing, Engineering, Product Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve the quality of purchased parts and assemblies.
  • Establish and monitor prevention, containment, and corrective action plans in collaboration with Supplier Quality Engineers dedicated to specific technologies.
  • Manage supplier performance indicators related to production impact, ensuring timely response, escalation when necessary, and compliance with Embraer quality requirements.
  • Ensure proper governance and flow of information for supplier nonconformities, technical dispositions, and quality notifications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing repetitive issues, production disruptions, and quality escapes.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

BS or BA Undergraduate Degree typically required in a related field of study.

Experience:

Senior Level Individual Contributor on a functional group.
Generally, 5-7 years of experience in a specialized functional discipline.
Knowledge of Embraer supplier.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehension, understanding and execution of broad practices associated within the field assigned and related fields.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and strong phone etiquette.
  • Applies these understandings in the completion of complex work assignments.
  • Proficient in Excel, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Power BI experience a plus
  • Experience interacting directly with suppliers and managing technical and quality escalations.
  • Strong sense of ownership and urgency in production-critical issues.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Structured, analytical, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Resilience and adaptability to dynamic production scenarios.
  • Continuous improvement and customer-focused attitude.

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required
