Job Description

Vitrolife Group, we work every day to unlock the full potential of science and technology to reduce the barriers towards building a family. Together we help our customers and their patients to fulfill the dream of having a baby.

About the role

At Vitrolife, we're seeking a skilled Embedded Software Developer to take ownership of firmware development within our multidisciplinary team. You’ll be the key driver for embedded software excellence—expertly developing firmware with Zephyr and C++, while bridging the gap between software applications and our advanced hardware solutions. This role suits someone who thrives independently and enjoys steering their technical area, especially at the critical interface where hardware meets software. Your drive, energy, and passion for creating robust solutions will have a direct impact on innovations that help people realize their dreams of parenthood.

Your impact

  • Develop firmware for integrated hardware and medical device applications

  • Drive embedded software architecture and implementation, particularly using Zephyr and C++

  • Execute hardware bring-up and integration

  • Act as the primary link and bridge builder between software applications and hardware development teams

  • Take proactive ownership of your technical domain and initiate improvements

  • Support regulated development processes and contribute to overall product quality

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or equivalent

  • 5+ years of embedded software development experience, preferably with hardware integration

  • Strong knowledge of Zephyr and C++

  • Experience in hardware bring-up

  • Bonus: Experience with C# application development.

  • Bonus: Experience with digital signal processing

  • Previous exposure to regulated environments (e.g., medical device standards) highly valued

  • Proven ability to bridge software and hardware development, collaborating effectively across disciplines

  • Experience with our tools and environments is a bonus: Linux, WSL, Github and Github actions, Jira

  • Proficiency in English; Danish proficiency is a plus

Who you are

  • Energetic and self-driven—someone who thrives when given autonomy to steer their area

  • Proactive problem solver, comfortable working independently while influencing and collaborating with others

  • Enjoys working at the interface between embedded software and hardware and finds motivation in cross-functional challenges

  • Communicative and approachable, able to connect technical solutions with real-world purposes

  • Values ownership, responsibility, and continual improvement

Success in this role means

  • Delivering robust, reliable, and compliant firmware solutions for Vitrolife’s hardware products

  • Taking clear ownership and responsibility for embedded software, consistently driving advances in the area

  • Effectively connecting software and hardware development, ensuring alignment and smooth integration

  • Raising the bar for quality, compliance, and innovation in embedded systems

  • Demonstrating enthusiasm and energy that inspires others—even when leading initiatives independently
