Job Description

About Sibylline

Sibylline is the world's largest private intelligence firm, helping organisations manage risk, spot opportunity, and build resilience in an increasingly volatile world.

Our people provide the insight that leaders need to navigate today's complex geopolitical landscape. It's meaningful work, with high-profile clients and real-world stakes – and that's what makes it so rewarding.

We're innovative, entrepreneurial, and growing fast, which means genuine opportunities to take on complex challenges, work with cutting-edge technology, and build your career, whatever stage you're at.

Everyone brings something different to the table, and we want that reflected in how we operate. Our roles suit a wide range of working styles, personalities, and interests, and we invest heavily in our managers so that every person gets the support they need to do their best work.

We're looking for people who are ambitious, discreet, and sharp, with strong integrity and a genuine curiosity about the world. If you're comfortable with uncertainty, energised by complex problems, and passionate about global affairs, we'd love to hear from you.

We are looking for an experienced security analyst to join us in an embedded role for our technology client. In this role, you will utilise the latest industry technologies and practices to identify, analyse, and advise on threats and risks that could affect the client’s people, operations, and data. This role will have a particular focus on developments related to the AI sector, including but not limited to intellectual property protection, information leaks, competitor analysis, emerging markets and activism trends.

You will be responsible for leveraging advanced analytical and investigative techniques to create insightful analysis in accordance with strict deadlines, including presenting and incorporating relevant data and visualisations. You will also engage directly with client stakeholders across multiple functions to interpret and refine intelligence needs and provide consulting support.

This is a hybrid role working a 4-days-on, 3-days-off schedule, either Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Weekday shifts will be based on site at the client’s London office, with weekend shifts worked remotely from home.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

  • Stay up to date on AI trends and sector developments, and assess implications for the client’s operations and reputation
  • Use all-source intelligence (including alert feeds, traditional and social media, and in-house sources) to monitor for security incidents and trends within the client’s areas of operation and locations and determine the likely impact to staff, assets, operations, events, and reputation
  • Produce intelligence products on a range of physical threats and risks specific to an AI company
  • Escalate security incidents to client stakeholders, following efficient and rehearsed procedures
  • Monitor and respond to threat actors and persons of interest (POIs), developing an assessment of their intent, capability, and tactics
  • Support internal stakeholders with ad hoc reporting on geopolitical developments, scenario planning, forecasts, and other related topics
  • Display creative thinking and consulting skills to deliver a continually improving service for the client
  • Be an effective member of a small team, focused on delivery of lean, high-impact services
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to determine how AI, geopolitical and security threats could impact private sector personnel, data, and operations
  • Excellent research skills, with the ability to rapidly digest, evaluate and “sift” large quantities of information from a range of sources
  • Analytical flair, with the ability to provide rigorous, creative insight into complex situations.
  • Ability to interpret, organise, and visualise data
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment, both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High-level competency with MS Office/Google Suite tools

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Verbal and written fluency in Mandarin Chinese
  • 1-3 years of experience in threat monitoring and analysis research, in the private or public sector, or a related area
  • Full authorisation to live and work in the UK
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Security Studies, Journalism, or other related disciplines; or equivalent professional experience; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of AI trends and the tech sector preferred
  • Experience with analytical software or OSINT tools

Additional Information

Interview Process

  • Initial call with our Talent Acquisition team member
  • Timed written assessment (arranged at a time that suits you) to test writing and analytical capability
  • Panel interview with some of the team members and hiring managers at Sibylline
  • Meet and Greet with the client

Research indicates that certain groups are less likely to apply for a position unless they meet every single requirement. If you feel you meet some of the requirements and can offer a unique perspective to this role, we strongly encourage you to apply—you might be the perfect fit we're looking for!
