About the job

Nordic Semiconductor is seeking an Embedded Linux Field Engineer to develop our embedded Linux SDK written in Rust. You’ll be working with cutting-edge hardware companies as they integrate for the first time or add support for newly built features. Our engineering culture provides opportunities to contribute to as many areas of our technology stack as you’re interested in.

You will be joining the Memfault team within Nordic Semiconductor.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with sales and customer success teams to design solutions for prospects and customers to solve real-world business problems.

  • Improve the Linux SDK to work on every major embedded Linux distribution across IoT devices

  • Engage directly with firmware engineers at cutting-edge hardware companies to integrate the platform

  • Build out and improve reference examples, SDK documentation, and automated tests

  • Ship code early and often to customers, seeing devices in the wild running your code

Qualification and skills

  • 3+ years of experience writing Rust/C/C++ code on embedded Linux devices, typically Arm CPUs

  • Well-versed in Yocto or Buildroot

  • Great communicator, credible with technical buyers, and clear with business stakeholders

  • Organized, efficient, and passionate about automated testing and CI/CD
