Role: Embedded Engineer – Security systems

Department: R&D / Engineering

Build the Next Generation of Security Products

Join our team and help create innovative security devices that protect millions of homes and businesses worldwide.

As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop professional wired and wireless security systems, working on technologies such as secure connectivity, enhanced networking and real-time systems. You will collaborate with experienced firmware, hardware, cybersecurity, compliance, and product engineers while contributing to products that move from concept to global mass production.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of embedded systems, cybersecurity, and real-world security and access control applications.

What You'll Be Working On

• Developing firmware for STM32 security devices
• Implementing secure device communication and firmware update mechanisms
• Optimizing device performance, memory utilization, power consumption, and reliability
• Supporting products that comply with professional security standards, including EN50131 Grade 3
• Participating in the development of reusable embedded platforms used across multiple product families

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware in C for wired and wireless security devices, focusing on reliability, performance,
• Implement communication features using RS485, wireless technologies,
• Work with bare metal, RTOS-based and Linux embedded systems.
• Participate in firmware design discussions and collaborate with senior engineers on technical solutions.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis using professional development tools.
• Work closely with Hardware, QA, Product Management, Compliance, and Cybersecurity teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support verification, validation, certification, and manufacturing activities.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to share knowledge and ensure consistent implementation of solutions.

Technology Stack

You will have the opportunity to work with:

• Embedded C
• ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers (STM32, TI MSPM0, or similar)
• Bare-metal, RTOS, embedded Linux development
• RS485 communication
• Git and modern version control practices
• SWD/JTAG debugging
• Secure boot and secure firmware update solutions
• CI/CD tools for embedded software development

Required Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing firmware for embedded systems.
• Good programming skills in C.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Understanding of bare-metal or RTOS-based embedded development.
• Experience debugging embedded systems using standard development tools.
• Understanding of embedded communication interfaces and protocols.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of secure bootloaders, firmware update mechanisms, or basic cryptography.
• Experience with RTOS and Linux environments
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience supporting certification activities
• Experience collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams.

Individuals may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
