Job Description

Cambridge Technology is seeking an experienced Email Marketing & Campaign Manager to plan, manage, and execute email campaigns across all Cambridge brands, products, and target audiences. This contractor will own the complete campaign lifecycle from campaign strategy, audience selection, and scheduling through automation, deployment, optimization, and performance reporting.

The role requires a strong combination of strategic thinking and hands-on campaign management. The selected candidate will work with internal marketing, content, design, product, sales, and technology teams to deliver relevant, timely, and compliant email communications that strengthen engagement, support lead generation, and contribute to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the email marketing strategy and campaign calendar across all Cambridge brands, products, and business priorities.
  • Manage end-to-end execution of newsletters, product promotions, lead-nurturing programs, event campaigns, cold-outreach campaigns, customer communications, and re-engagement campaigns.
  • Define campaign objectives, target audiences, segmentation criteria, messaging requirements, schedules, workflows, and calls to action.
  • Build, configure, test, schedule, and deploy email campaigns using relevant email marketing and marketing automation platforms.
  • Create automated workflows, nurture sequences, drip campaigns, lead-scoring logic, triggers, and lifecycle-based communication programs.
  • Manage contact segmentation, suppression lists, subscription preferences, consent records, data quality, duplicate records, and campaign eligibility rules.
  • Conduct A/B and multivariate testing across subject lines, sender names, content, calls to action, layouts, timing, and audience segments.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, identify improvement opportunities, and provide clear recommendations and reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Manage email deliverability by monitoring sender reputation, bounce rates, spam complaints, domain authentication, inbox placement, and engagement quality.
  • Ensure campaigns comply with applicable email marketing and data privacy requirements, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, consent management, and unsubscribe regulations.
  • Maintain campaign documentation, naming conventions, templates, quality-control checklists, approval processes, and reporting standards.
  • Stay current with changes in email marketing technology, automation practices, privacy regulations, deliverability standards, and AI-enabled campaign optimization.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience in email marketing, campaign management, marketing automation, or a related digital marketing role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the complete lifecycle of B2B email campaigns across multiple brands, products, audiences, or markets.
  • Strong knowledge of campaign planning, audience segmentation, personalization, marketing automation, lead nurturing, and customer lifecycle communications.
  • Hands-on experience building, testing, deploying, and optimizing campaigns using leading email marketing and automation platforms.
  • Strong understanding of email deliverability, sender reputation, bounce management, spam prevention, domain authentication, and inbox-placement practices.
  • Working knowledge of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, subscription management, consent requirements, and applicable email marketing regulations.
  • Experience with A/B testing, campaign analytics, attribution, reporting, and translating performance data into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong project management, attention to detail, problem-solving, and internal stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, audience segments, and business priorities simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Tools and Platforms

The successful candidate should have hands-on experience with leading email marketing, CRM, automation, analytics, and campaign-quality platforms, including several of the following:
