Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Provides emergency response to all types of emergencies and disasters.

Serves as on scene coordinator at scenes when needed or in superiors’ absence.

Participates as a member of All Hazards Emergency Response Team, including but not limited to Rope Rescue, Confined Space, Overland Search and Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Dive Rescue, Radiological Emergency Preparedness.

Operates various computer systems and specialized instruments in the Emergency Operations Center.

Must be able to operate trucks, trailers, large apparatus, boats, ATV’s and forklift.

Keeps supply and storage warehouse clean, neat and orderly.

Maintains and cleans emergency response vehicles and equipment to ensure readiness.

Assists Property Clerk with inventory as needed.

Works with county volunteer fire service and performs interior structural firefighting activities.

Assists in preparing and implementing various emergency plans.

Physically demanding functions performed in various weather environments.

Maintains all required certifications and training.

Incumbent is on call for emergency response after routine hours, on weekends and holidays.

Performs other duties as assigned.
