
PURPOSE:
The Senior Supply Chain Analyst provides advanced analytical insight into market dynamics, public policy impacts, pricing structures, and supply chain cost drivers. The role independently leads complex analyses that inform sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization initiatives, translating external market intelligence and internal pricing and consumption data into actionable business recommendations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Market, Policy & Economic Analysis:
• Lead advanced analysis of commodity, supplier, logistics, and labor market dynamics.
• Evaluate macroeconomic trends and public policy, regulatory, and labor impacts on supply chain cost, availability, and risk.
• Provide forward-looking insight and scenarios to support strategic planning.
Pricing, Cost Structure & Should-Cost Analysis:
• Develop and maintain detailed pricing, cost structure, and should-cost models across key spend categories.
• Critically review supplier pricing mechanisms, cost drivers, escalators, and index-linked pricing.
• Advise stakeholders on price reasonableness and commercial risk.
Internal Consumption, Spend & Value Optimization:
• Lead analysis of internal consumption, demand patterns, and spend to identify optimization opportunities.
• Quantify and prioritize cost reduction, value improvement, and risk mitigation initiatives.
• Support tracking and validation of realized and forecast benefits.
Negotiation & Strategic Sourcing Support:
• Provide analytical leadership for supplier negotiations, including market intelligence, benchmarking, and scenario modeling.
• Support development of sourcing strategies and negotiation positions for high-value and high-risk categories.
Stakeholder Partnership & Capability Development:
• Act as a trusted analytical partner to supply chain, operations, and finance leaders.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to analysts and supply chain team members on analytical methods and market interpretation.
General:
• Develop, standardize, and continuously improve analytical tools, models, and reporting.
• Ensure high standards of data governance, accuracy, and compliance with HS&E policies.
• Perform other duties consistent with the scope and seniority of the role.
