Job Description

Pain management practice looking for a self motivated individual with good communication and organization skills, familiar with Medicare, Medi-Cal and commercial plan portals.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and verify patient's medical benefits
  • Check eligibility on Medi-Cal, Availity, Medicare and all other health insurance portals.
  • Ensure servicing provider is in-network with patient's primary and secondary insurance
  • Ensure that if prior authorization is required by the insurance one is on file or obtained before services are render
  • Answers patient inquiries and takes messages for follow up
  • Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as instructed.
  • Maintains confidentiality within the workplace and within the community.
  • Handles protected health information in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Adheres to the Mission and Values of PCCC
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned

Requirements

  • 1 year experience coordinating medical insurance benefits
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good computer skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
