Within the Operations area, we are seeking a Rig Design & Instrumentation Manager for our office in Cascina Costa (VA).

The Test Rig Design and Instrumentation Manager ensures the technical and operational management of activities related to the development, modification, and construction of test benches used for testing, development, and qualification of helicopter transmissions and mechanical components.

Coordinates the internal technical team and ensures the definition of design requirements for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation systems, overseeing detailed design, manufacturing, and commissioning activities carried out by external suppliers.

Ensures technical oversight of suppliers and contractors, verifying compliance with functional, safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Provides technical support for installation, testing, maintenance, and continuous improvement of test benches, collaborating with relevant company functions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and coordination of design activities

  • Ensure technical outputs related to the development and construction of test benches within their area of responsibility;
  • Define technical and functional requirements for new test benches;
  • Promote, where possible, technological improvements of test benches;
  • Coordinate team activities by assigning priorities and monitoring project progress;
  • Plan and supervise detailed design activities entrusted to external suppliers, ensuring coordination with internal company functions;
  • Ensure compliance with technical, quality, regulatory, and safety requirements throughout all phases of implementation;
  • Ensure proper issuance and management of project technical documentation;
  • Supervise contractor activities, verifying the technical compliance of developed solutions with defined requirements;
  • Ensure monitoring of construction and commissioning activities, intervening in the resolution of technical issues and verifying compliance with contractual requirements, timelines, and expected quality standards;
  • Ensure that contractor activities comply with required safety, quality, and performance standards.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience in the design and construction of test benches and/or complex industrial systems;
  • Experience in the technical coordination of internal resources and external suppliers;
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and industrial automation systems;
  • Knowledge of mechanical design for machines and/or industrial systems;
  • Ability to technically manage suppliers and supervise commissioning activities;
  • Knowledge of machinery safety requirements and applicable technical regulations;
  • Strong planning, technical problem-solving, and multidisciplinary coordination skills;
  • Ability to manage priorities operationally and achieve project objectives.

How does the selection process work?
