Position: Teacher of Music

Elementary/Middle SchoolEffective Date(s):2026-2027 school yearEmployment Terms:

1. Tenure track position; full-time; eligible for health insurance benefits
2. Position is associated with the terms and conditions of the negotiated Agreement between the Educational Association of Paramus (EAP) and the Board of Education.

Reports To:Principal and Supervisor of Visual and Performing ArtsJob Goal(s):

The Elementary/Middle School Music Teaching position includes teaching general music to students in grades pre-k to grade 4, and providing small group instruction to students involved in the 4th-grade band, orchestra, and choir programs. Additionally, two days per week will include teaching Grade 5-8 General Music within the middle school.

1. Build a school and classroom culture in which students gain an interest in and appreciation for music and the arts
2. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established NJSLS and district curriculum goals and implement a variety of teaching and assessment techniques (including formative and summative) to ensure student achievement and engagement
3. Collaborate regularly with the Pre-K-Grade 12 professional learning community to promote cohesiveness and unity within the program

Qualifications:

New Jersey Teacher of Music Certification

Experience directing ensembles preferred

Elementary and/or Middle School Music education preferred

Salary:Starting salary of $57,547.00 in accordance with collective bargaining agreementApplication:
