NEW FAIRFIELD BOARD OF EDUCATION

POSITION: ELEMENTARY TEACHER - One Year Position

SCHOOL: New Fairfield Elementary School

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Establish a positive learning environment that fosters student engagement, independence, and interdependence.
• Implement NFPS elementary curriculum, aligned to CT Common Core State Standards, through the use of highly-effective instructional strategies.
• Provide instructional support and differentiation of instruction for all students.
• Use effective strategies to ensure student engagement, monitor student progress, and adjust instruction.
• Collaborate with colleagues, curriculum specialists, and administrators in professional learning and discourse to support the collective growth of the school and district.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Connecticut elementary teaching certification.
• Knowledge of CT Common Core State Standards and effective instructional practices.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Ability to use student data to inform instruction.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

POSITION TO START: August 24, 2026

POSITION TO END: June 2027

SALARY: Per NFEA Contract
