What You’ll Do

  • Embody the characteristics that the school wishes the students to uphold, especially connection, accountability, perseverance, growth mindset, and professionalism
  • Provide engaging, motivating, and rigorous instruction via prepared lesson-plans in various whole-class settings during a teacher's absence
  • Assist in student arrival and departure, transitions between class periods, lunch periods, field trips, etc.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
  • Teach, support, and enhance school-wide systems and expectations at all times with all children
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom via straightening chairs, tables, clearing whiteboard, etc.
  • Ensure that students are never left unattended in the classroom
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of all school procedures and regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salaried/Exempt
  • Annual Salary: $36,750 (pro-rated based on assignment length)
  • Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Annual Calendar and Start Date

Who You Are



Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass required background screening pursuant to CRS § 22-30.5-110.7
  • Committed to creating a rigorous, nurturing, and joyful education experience

  • Demonstrate effective and consistent professionalism throughout all communication
  • Ability to demonstrate evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player
  • Possess a growth mindset and experience using feedback to improve practice

Desired

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual; Spanish & English
  • One or more years of substitute experience, especially within an urban classroom utilizing structure, incentives, and high expectations to drive student success

Essential Functions:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting
  • Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, push, and pull
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
  • Must be able to successfully abide by all policies and procedures of Atlas Schools
