Philosophy Course Editor
Course Editors play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our credit-recommended college courses. This project aims to create an Elementary Fine Arts Methods course to meet current academic standards, arts integration best practices, and elementary education requirements. This is an online, remote contract role. All work is paid hourly at $7.50/hour.
Project Description
You will review and edit existing college-level course structure and materials for Elementary Fine Arts Methods. This is expected to include tasks such as (but not limited to):

  • Evaluating and adjusting recommended updates to proposed course structure
  • Reviewing course learning outcomes and competencies for accuracy and alignment with elementary arts education standards
  • Editing skill-oriented course sections (e.g., visual art, music, movement, and drama methods) and ensuring proper organization
  • Reviewing and refining lesson planning assignments, response prompts, and rubrics
  • Evaluating assessment questions for quality, accuracy, and alignment with course objectives
  • Ensuring content reflects current arts integration frameworks and state/national elementary education standards (e.g., National Core Arts Standards)

Required Skills:

  • Master's degree or higher in Art Education, Music Education, Fine Arts Education, Elementary Education, or Curriculum and Instruction with a fine arts or elementary focus
  • Experience teaching fine arts methods or elementary education courses in a college or university setting
  • Experience creating, updating, or revising courses at a college or university level
  • Strong knowledge of arts integration strategies and methods appropriate for elementary-age learners

Nice to have

  • Practical classroom experience teaching fine arts at the elementary level (K–6)
  • Familiarity with current trends in arts education, including STEAM integration and culturally responsive arts teaching
  • Knowledge of National Core Arts Standards and relevant state-level arts curriculum frameworks
  • Strong time management skills to meet project due dates
  • Receptiveness to feedback and willingness to revise submitted work as needed
  • Ability to collaborate with curriculum designers to create high-quality, pedagogically sound course deliverables

Years of Experience Needed

  • Master’s degree or higher in any of the following:

    - Education (with a focus on Arts or Elementary Education)
    - Fine Arts Education
    - Art Education
    - Music Education
    - Elementary Education (with fine arts coursework)

Years of Experience Needed

  • 2+ years of experience teaching courses in a college or university setting
