Job description:

Horizon Science Academy Davenport is a public charter school in Davenport, Iowa. We are hiring Elementary teachers for the 2026-2027 school year.

We are seeking a dedicated teachers certified in Iowa to teach elementary classes (K-5) for our STEM-focused charter school, serving Kindergarten through 7th grade. This will be our second year open and we continue to make strides to offer Parent Choice and give students a positive school experience.

Position Details:

• Location: Davenport, IA
• Salary: Starting at $50,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging STEM curricula for students
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Build strong relationships with students to support their academic and personal growth
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational programs
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress
• Meet with grade level teams and staff to review data and plan for instruction

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Valid Iowa teaching certification
• Experience in elementary education, preferably in a STEM setting
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship-building
• Commitment to fostering connections within the school community
• Passion for integrating STEM concepts into the curriculum
