Job Description

The purpose of this job is to process parts according to customer specifications and production efficiencies by performing the following duties.

WAGE TYPE:Hourly

FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Reads traveler to determine the optimum process for the designated part to beplated. Follows the traveler process specifications step bystep.
  • Sets up and controls plating equipment to coat metal object electrolytic ally or chemicallywith chromium, copper, cadmium, nickel, zinc, or other metal to provide protective, decorative or engineeringsurfaces.
  • Monitors process control of all plating and cleaning baths to ensure process inwithin predeterminedparameters.
  • Follows established safety procedures and workinstructions.
  • Measures, marks and masks areas exclude from plating pertraveler.
  • Operates manual hoist or automatic hoist system for submerging the parts in platingor cleaning baths. This may also be performed byhand.
  • Racks parts by hand onto racks using racking workinstructions.
  • Plates parts using motor driven barrelsystem.
  • May operate electroplating equipment with reverse polarity, known as plattingstripper.
  • May work with substances defined as hazardous waste, such as chromesludge.
  • Could potentially handle hazardous waste in containerizing, transporting, testing, orother assignedduties.
  • Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs andDrivers.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

  • Reports to: TeamLeader

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience:

Expected: Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the Englishlanguage.
  • Must be able to read work instructions and travelers in order to follow properprocedures.
  • Must be able to read safety warnings and chemicallabels.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally withothers.
