As a Electronics Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will optimize production processes, implement new technologies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient manufacture of high-quality products while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

Sustaining Engineering (Electronics Assemblies – SPR)

  • Support released products throughout their lifecycle
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve product issues from manufacturing, service, and the field
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

First Article & Verification Testing

  • Perform and evaluate First Article (FA) builds and testing
  • Validate product changes, components, and alternates
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, quality, and regulatory requirements

Engineering Changes

  • Initiate and implement engineering change requests (ECR/ECO)
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing on product updates and improvements

Manufacturing & Service Support

  • Provide hands-on technical support to production and service teams
  • Troubleshoot complex electronic issues at system and component level
  • Support the introduction of product updates into manufacturing

Technical Documentation

  • Create and maintain technical documentation (e.g., test procedures, troubleshooting guides, reports)
  • Update BOMs, schematics, and service documentation as needed

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and testability
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and component obsolescence activities

Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians

Optional – Limited NPI Support

  • Support smooth transition of new products into the sustaining phase (handover from R&D)

Requirements

  • Vyhláška 250/2021 Sb., §6 (formerly Vyhláška 50 §6)

  • Strong experience in electronics engineering (senior level), ideally in a manufacturing or sustaining environment

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Solid knowledge of - Analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics, Schematics and PCB diagnostics and Measurement techniques and lab equipment

Experience With

  • Troubleshooting complex electronic systems

  • Root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why)

  • Engineering change processes (ECO/ECR)

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Fluency in English and Czech

  • Willingness to work hands-on and occasionally travel (low frequency)
