Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an Electronics Engineer specializing in embedded systems to support hardware development across the full product lifecycle. You will work on specification, design, prototyping, testing, and integration, collaborating closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams.

At Frankenburg, you will join an exceptional team of leading experts and building next-generation defence missile systems for the free world. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your contribution helps shape how we design, verify, and demonstrate advanced embedded hardware for defence systems. If you’re energized by innovation and driven to make an impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embedded Hardware Design
Design and develop electronic circuits and high quality PCB layouts for embedded systems in compliance with defence and industry standards.

  • Component Selection & Qualification
Specify and validate components for defence applications, ensuring reliable operation under harsh environmental conditions.

  • Prototyping & Verification
Develop engineering prototypes and support iterative testing, troubleshooting, and hardware validation activities.

  • Hardware–Software Integration
Collaborate on hardware–software co design, defining robust interfaces and supporting firmware integration and verification.

  • Documentation & Compliance
Produce design specifications, BOMs, test plans, and verification evidence to support qualification and regulatory compliance.

  • Manufacturing & Supply Chain Support
Support procurement and oversee the transition from prototype development to full scale manufacturing.

  • Design Improvement & Optimisation
Drive continuous improvements to enhance performance, robustness, reliability, and manufacturability of embedded hardware.

We Would Love You to Have

  • Educational Background
A technical degree or diploma in electronics engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience
Hands‑on experience designing and delivering embedded hardware systems.

  • Technical Skills
Strong skills in schematic capture and PCB layout, with experience in circuit simulation, analysis, and producing high‑quality technical documentation (reports, protocols, validation records etc).

  • Soft Skills
A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

  • Mission Alignment
Strong alignment with our mission to build affordable and mass-manufacturable defence technologies — ensuring every euro spent moves us closer to our goal.

  • Security Clearance
Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.

Our Values

Our mission is ambitious, and it takes a team that works with the same intensity.

  • Own the Mission: Mission first. Always.
We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions.

  • Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible.
We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time.

  • Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises.
We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating.

Ready to Make a Real Impact?

Apply now! The deadline is May 24, 2026, but we review applications and reach out to qualified candidates continuously.

About Frankenburg Technologies

Frankenburg Technologies is a European defence technology company developing next-generation interceptor missiles for short-range air defence and counter-UAS. Our systems are designed to protect armed forces and critical national infrastructure from large-scale aerial threats: from wartime drone swarms to peacetime incursions near airports, energy sites, or logistics corridors.

Designed to be fast, lightweight, and mass-manufacturable, Frankenburg’s missile systems drastically lower intercept cost and complement existing layered air defence architectures. We combine modular design, containerised manufacturing, and rapid localised build cycles to enable scalable, sovereign production across Europe.

Headquartered in Tallinn with operations in Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine, Frankenburg is building Europe’s next-generation missile house for the drone era.

Our mission is to equip the free world with the technologies needed to win the war.
