Electronics Assembly Technician

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Electronics Assembly Technician to perform production assembly, repair, and rework operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, including PCBs, panels, motors, frames, and cables. This role reports to the Production Manager and offers strong career growth opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-starting candidate eager to learn in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, including PCBs, panels, motors, frames, and cables.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, process specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams to guide precise assembly work.
  • Operate hand and calibrated tools, calipers, and power supply equipment to complete builds to specification.
  • Diagnose and repair components and assemblies, performing rework as needed to restore optimal operation.
  • Assemble electromechanical components, including connector mate/de-mate and hardware torquing operations.
  • Carry out mechanical box assembly, including circuit card alignment and torquing operations.
  • Inspect and verify incoming components and in-process builds to maintain quality standards.
  • Program and test power supply systems as required.
  • Document and report failures or discrepancies to support continuous quality improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to complete company-provided HAZMAT training and surveillance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Strong ability to read and comprehend written work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of basic power supply box operation.
  • Hands-on wire routing experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to complete a solder test as part of the hiring process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of electronic box assembly experience.
  • 1 year of experience in a lead assembly role.
  • Experience working within a tool-controlled environment.
  • Hands-on electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Demonstrated electronic troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency using a multimeter and calipers.
  • Practical soldering experience.
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-collaboration skills.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as Hand Solder, ESD Safety Training, IPC J-STD, Hardware Torque, Connector Mate & De-Mate, or Cable Harness.
  • Background in lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Experience testing and/or programming box build assemblies.
  • Military training background such as Basic Electronics Training, Radio Operator Maintainer Training, or the International Tactical Communications Course.

Travel/Deployment Requirements

Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Compensation & Benefits

$80,000 - $95,000 annually
