We are seeking an Electronics and Software Team Lead to provide technical leadership across the design, development, and integration of electronic systems and embedded software for advanced missile weapon systems. Reporting to the Head of Design, you will lead and mentor a strong team of engineers while taking ownership of key technical decisions and overall solution quality. You will ensure the delivery of robust electronic solutions and innovative software from initial concept through to full-scale deployment.
At Frankenburg, you will join an exceptional team of leading experts in technology and national defence, building next-generation defence missile systems for the free world. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your contribution shapes how we verify and demonstrate advanced defence systems. If you thrive on innovation and impact — we want to hear from you.
Technical Leadership
Lead the Electronics and Software team in developing advanced electronic systems and embedded software for next‑generation missile platforms. Provide hands‑on technical leadership across design reviews, troubleshooting, and problem solving, taking ownership of key technical decisions.
Team Leadership
Coach and support team members, encourage professional growth, and foster a collaborative, high‑performing engineering environment.
Design Ownership
Oversee the creation, analysis, review, and approval of electronic system designs, embedded software, and technical documentation, including specifications, validation reports, and engineering assessments.
Cross‑Functional Integration
Work closely with systems, mechanical, test, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Standards, Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with electronics and software standards, quality processes, and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Drive improvements in system reliability, software performance, development efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
Educational Background
A technical degree in Aerospace, Electronics, Robotics or Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
Strong experience in technical leadership, guiding engineers through complex development challenges. Previous experience leading teams is a strong advantage. Able to inspire, mentor, and develop engineering talent while building a collaborative, high‑performing team culture.
Technical Expertise
Strong background in electronic system design and/or embedded software development, ideally within the complex weapons or advanced defence systems sector.
Soft Skills
Proactive and solution‑oriented, with excellent communication skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Mission Alignment
Strong alignment with our mission to build affordable and mass-manufacturable defence technologies — ensuring every euro spent moves us closer to our goal.
Security Clearance
Willingness to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.
Open to Relocate
Willingness to relocate to Tallinn or Riga.
Our mission is ambitious, and it takes a team that works with the same intensity.
Own the Mission: Mission first. Always.
We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions.
Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible.
We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time.
Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises.
We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating.
Apply now! The deadline is April 10th, 2025, but we review applications and reach out to qualified candidates continuously.

Frankenburg Technologies is a European defence technology company developing next-generation interceptor missiles for short-range air defence and counter-UAS. Our systems are designed to protect armed forces and critical national infrastructure from large-scale aerial threats: from wartime drone swarms to peacetime incursions near airports, energy sites, or logistics corridors.
Designed to be fast, lightweight, and mass-manufacturable, Frankenburg’s missile systems drastically lower intercept cost and complement existing layered air defence architectures. We combine modular design, containerised manufacturing, and rapid localised build cycles to enable scalable, sovereign production across Europe.
Headquartered in Tallinn with operations in Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine, Frankenburg is building Europe’s next-generation missile house for the drone era.
Our mission is to equip the free world with the technologies needed to win the war.
