Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Electronic Technician – Level 4 or Level 5 to join our team in Dulles, VA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
The selected candidate will perform advanced technical functions related to supporting the design, assembly, and maintenance of avionics hardware. In this role, you will work hands-on with electronic assemblies, circuit boards and components to ensure systems meet performance and quality standards. This position is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality work.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
In this job, you will:
Perform assembly of electronic assemblies including soldering, tinning, masking, and bonding.
Operate specialized electronics assembly equipment.
Execute procedures, record data, and ensure compliance with engineering specifications and military standards.
Maintain documentation, calibration records, and ensure compliance with safety and ESD protocols.
Support root cause analysis of test failures and assist with data collection and corrective action implementation.
Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and security standards.
Provide mentorship to junior technicians.
This position can be filled at either a Level 4 or Level 5.
Basic Qualifications for Level 4:
High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
No clearance required to start
Advanced proficiency with Hand Soldering under a microscope, including 18-30awg wire, fine-pitch lead components.
Applicant must be able to pass in-house solder and cable crimp and harness classes.
Complete hand tool knowledge as well as familiarization with power tools used in circuit card manufacturing is required.
Applicant must be flexible in types of work assignments.
Applicant must be able to react to changing priorities as directed.

High School diploma or equivalent and 8 years additional education and/or related experience.
No clearance required to start.
Master-level proficiency with Hand Soldering under a microscope, including 18-30awg wire, fine-pitch lead components.
Applicant must be able to pass in-house solder and cable crimp and harness classes.
Complete hand tool knowledge as well as familiarization with power tools used in circuit card manufacturing is required.
Applicant must be flexible in types of work assignments.
Applicant must be able to react to changing priorities as directed.
IPC J-STD-001 Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in military or aerospace manufacturing or depot environments.
Experience with Solumina, Costpoint, MS Office.
NASA/Military specification Solder training course completion.
+10 years experience soldering circuit cards for Aerospace applications.
Advanced tool usage such as Fineplacer (FPGA placement), solder fountain.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $131,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $94,000.00 - $156,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
