Electronic Technician IIs (ET II) provide technical support required to maintain simulators and related training devices. An ET II applies basic knowledge and experience to solve training device problems, including those that are typically able to be solved solely by reference to maintenance manuals or similar documents.  They are fully qualified, trained, and knowledgeable in the support, maintenance, and operation of training devices. Electronic Technicians document discrepancies using reporting forms as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- An Electronic Technician shall have demonstrated competence through satisfactory, progressive performance as a simulator technician.
- Proficiently use and operate test equipment to perform pre- and post-operational tests on installed equipment and to perform preventive maintenance using preventative maintenance cards and instruction books. 
- Effectively and efficiently diagnose and isolate malfunctions in electronic systems; align, adjust, and calibrate installed training devices; interpret mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic schematics and prepare simplified versions.
- Perform calibrations, adjustments, and tests on electronic equipment; analyze operation, verify discrepancies, isolate malfunctions and replace defective components used in installed devices.
- Maintain basic proficiency in the use of diagnostic programs, interpretation of results, and the use of program listings to isolate faults and be adept in the use of test equipment, repair of micro/miniature printed circuit boards, electro/mechanical systems and electronic control loading systems and computer-generated sound systems. 
- Be minimally proficient in the use of diagnostic programs, interpretation of results and use of program listings to isolate faults.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance using maintenance requirement cards and instructional manuals; perform daily system readiness test, pre-operational and post-operational checkouts. 
- Exhibit high levels of job performance and capability to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to work independently, with normal supervision.
- Other duties and requirements as identified and/or prescribed to meet program requirements.

QualificationsRequired Education and 

Experience:
- As a minimum, this shall include two (2) years training system, equipment or simulator maintenance experience on systems of comparable complexity to those on which the Electronic Technician will be working.
- Must be qualified 3-M Coordinator
- Graduated from a two (2) year electronic technician resident course at an accredited technical institute or have completed the Navy's factory or formal training on a comparable system.
- Of the two (2) years requisite simulation repair experience, the Electronic Technician shall have demonstrated experience and competence in each of the following areas:
- Large multi-computer system integration
- Image generation and projection display systems
- Large scale, complex digital-to-analog integration
- Acoustic simulation
- Large scale, complex digital interfaces
- High density cable and plug repair
- Software maintenance
- Comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of the electronic systems
- Additionally, the Electronic Technician shall have demonstrated experience and competence in at least seven (7) of the following areas:
- High voltage power distribution
- High voltage circuit repair
- Large scale, complex analog systems
- Magnetic tape drive repair
- High density disk drive repair
- 400 Hz power distribution
- Microprocessor repairs
- ASCII terminal repairs
- FORTRAN/UNIX experience
- Video disk/tape player repair
- Complex Local Area Network Logic and Wide Area Network repair
- Complex relay logic
- Dead reckoning tracer repair
- Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion
- Time bearing recorder

Security Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
- Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. 
- Obtain and maintain (if required) Security+ certification
- May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information. 
Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the complex word and technical documents/diagrams.  
Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.
Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills 
Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.

- Must be able to detect odors, noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect discrepancies of malfunctioning equipment. 
- Must be able to distinguish colors. 
- Must be able to perform Domestic and International travel as required. 
- Shop floor environment.  
- Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.  
- May be exposed to conditions of extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
