This position supports application analysis. Under the direction and support of the EMR Manager, , participates in customer support, user training and health information data verification/entry. Performs ongoing system testing to ensure accurate/optimal functioning. Participates in EMR training, documentation entry and implementation during mergers. Liaises with internal and external stakeholders as needed. This role often includes travel, tight deadlines and when necessary, long hours. Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant healthcare information regulations, along with organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
KPA 1 – Product Knowledge
Maintains knowledge of EMR (electronic medical record) systems, functions, programming, updates and basic knowledge of interfaces.
Becomes familiar with multiple EMR/Clinical application systems.
Creates, updates and maintains documentation on EMR support techniques.
Provide basic education to new providers.
Assist in system-wide education as needed for major EMR changes/updates as needed.
KPA 2 – Merger Support
Participates in all assigned training activities, including for extended periods of time required during mergers.
Assist in the development and updating of EMR training materials to keep current.
Maintain a positive attitude when training providers and staff.
Assist support staff to develop efficient workflows utilizing the EMR.
Work with other clinical applications members to develop crosswalk of EMR elements to assist in data migration from one EMR system to another and communicate this with others.
Assists with data conversion verification.
Assists with manual data entry for mergers as needed.
Problem solving skills are utilized when onsite for mergers with frequent communication with manager/ interdepartmental teams as needed.
KPA 3 – Support EMR Upgrades/Updates
Participates in testing upgrades, beta products, overall redesign of current systems as identified by the company or associated vendors.
Work with clinical applications team members to identify customer risk issues, trends, recurring or concerning issues with management as soon as identified.
Identify weaknesses/security risks in EMR software and suggest enhancements for product improvement.
Report issues to vendors as needed/directed by manager.
KPA 4 – Clinical Support
Maintains Standard Operating Procedures of the EMR support team and act as an interdepartmental liaison to share ideas and processes as they relate to the EMR.
Maintain knowledge of clinical processes as they related to oncology healthcare needs.
Provide basic education to Providers for EMR usage on identified systems.
Document provider training per established department SOP.
Education
Degree in Health, IT, Education or related field preferred.
Certifications/Licenses
Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.
Previous Experience
Minimum two (2) years clinical oncology experience preferred.
Minimum two (2) years managing PHI (protected health data) or clinical office skills preferred.

Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.
Travel: 51-75%
Standard Core Workdays/Hours Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. May need to work some weekends or evening hours as company needs dictate.
