The Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future.

We are looking for an Electro-mechanical Quality Test Technician for our production team on the 2nd shift. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.

The Electro-mechanical Quality Test technician is responsible for performing final test and inspection duties on Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, such as Switchgears, Switchboards and Breakers

Shift Hours: 3:00PM- 11:00PM

Hourly Rate: $24.79 + $1.50 Shift Differential

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience of electrical wiring or electrical testing.
  • Ability to conduct thorough final inspections on all electrical equipment, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
  • Experience with various test equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading schematic drawings, layouts, and wire lists for circuit troubleshooting.
  • Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer - sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Residential or commercial electrical education or certifications.
  • Experience with Hi-pot testing.

You’llmake an impact by:

  • Perform final electro-mechanical inspections on units, ensuring adherence to company quality standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct nondestructive tests on equipment according to specifications and drawings, troubleshoot failures, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection and quality reports, working professionally with Engineering and Wirers during tests and reporting findings.
  • Adherence to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, with a commitment to continuous improvement and be a strong team player.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.

The pay for this position is $24.79 per hour, plus an additional $1.50 shift differential. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
