Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring that all production/facility equipment are safe and in proper operating condition. Ensure operation of facility machinery by completing preventive maintenance requirements on HVAC components and other facilities equipment; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Additional duties will be to perform all tasks following the cGMP requirements.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified candidates will have either 5+ years of relevant experience as a Maintenance Technician in a fast-paced manufacturing set-up, or related field, or training at an accredited technical school.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills to the component level. Experienced with all LOTO procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using multimeters, amp probes, used to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Familiar with safety interlocks and machine automation controls.
  • Strong mechanical skills including pumps, motors, belts and conveyors.
  • Experience utilizing a building management system.(Metasys preferred)
  • Experienced reading blueprints, schematics and machine drawings.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex tasks and projects.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Well-developed written and verbal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate safe working procedures.
  • Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands

OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to and repair machinery on all production calls for machine breakdowns on multiple manufacturing lines.
  • Ensure all repairs and corrective maintenance performed are verified and properly documented in the CMMS system.
  • Fabrication including welding, plasma cutting and machining as needed.
  • Perform all assigned Preventative and Predictive Maintenance tasks scheduled in a timely manner, following established listed activities and applying acquired knowledge from previous work experience.
  • Monitor equipment parts and determine minimum/maximum inventory levels for all equipment and facility support systems.
  • Record/update all parts used during repair and Preventative Maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
  • Assist Inventory Control and Maintenance Planner in physical parts count for costing.
  • Collaborate with Production, Process Engineering, and Product Development on quality issues and specifications.
  • Ensure housekeeping and safety compliance in the Maintenance shop.
  • Communicate all machine issues and progress of ongoing maintenance activities, recommend machine upgrades and projects for process and continuous improvement.
  • Fabricate, modify and repair parts by using machine shop equipment (ie., welders, plasma cutter and drill press.)
  • Attend all maintenance meetings, training, educational workshops or webinars for updates and personal development.
  • Maintain positive team dynamic and overall department success.
  • Complete all work orders as assigned within established timelines and in compliance with all printed company policies and procedures.
  • Repair of the facility including but not limited to drywall repair, painting, landscape maintenance and miscellaneous cleaning.
  • Inspection and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment both in ceilings and on the rooftop.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Perform predictive, preventive, emergency, routine and non-routine maintenance work on plant/facility equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Continuously improve overall plant operations to maximize production, meet plant demands, and minimize operating costs.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Exposure to cold temperatures in the winter and hot temperatures in the summer
  • Work occasionally near mechanical parts and in high places
  • Occasional duties in an outside environment
  • Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/Pull up to 300 lbs.
