TITLE: Electric/Instrumentation Technician A
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Monitor and assess control systems and carry out repairs under intense pressure to ensure there is no halt in the production process. Configure, program, maintain, and trouble shoot electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Oral and written English language literate.
• Good communication skills.
• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Siemens, Rockwell etc.)
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• 3-5 years’ experience in an industrial setting.
• Understanding of instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, and low voltage electrical systems.
• Basic Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems and their interface with system controls and instrumentation.
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work directly with other STA, LLC employees to maintain a safe, professional, confidential and productive operation.
• Follow all STA, LLC and Occupations Safety and Health Administration safety rules and regulations.
• Programmable logic controller and/or Distributed control system (PLC/DCS) troubleshooting and programming
• Install instrumentation including mounting hardware and sensing lines, pulling and termination of I/O cables, configuration, calibration, and basic PLC programming.
• Read and understand mechanical, electrical, chemical, and controls system drawings.
• Respond quickly to potentially critical situations, perform rapid and accurate situational assessments, and troubleshoot system components. Identify causes of failures, determine appropriate corrective actions, and implement these corrections promptly to mitigate the effects of system upsets.
• Review recommended maintenance procedures to ensure best practices are in place and documented properly.
• Provide technical support for 24-hour operations team.
• Perform any other additional duties assigned or as required to maintain a smooth and efficient operation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. Employee may work at different workstations, machines, and areas of the facility as production needs require. The noise level is moderate to loud and the temperature is often hot.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
• While performing the duties of this job, employee regularly stands and moves around the building and machines
• Uses hand and fingers to feel objects, tools, or controls
• Reaches with hands and arms above the shoulder and below the waist
• Stoops, kneels or crouches
• Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds 48 inches high
