Vic - CoburgThe Electrician maintains and upgrades electrical and control systems associated with water and wastewater infrastructure.

About the Role

Service Stream’s Utilities division are currently seeking Electricians to join our growing company. Our Electricians carry out routine and reactive maintenance on water and sewer delivery and treatment infrastructure within Yarra Valley Water’s Northern Service Delivery area. We have positions available for:

  • Leading Hand x1
  • Dual Trade (x1)
  • Electrician (x6)

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Coburg, VIC

Reporting Line: Field Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

The Electricians and Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians will be an experienced operative who safely and efficiently maintains wastewater and water control systems. Proficient in operating and maintaining network, treatment, and ancillary assets within water and sewer distribution systems. Committed to ensuring a reliable and secure water supply while minimising environmental impact and maintaining positive operational and community relations.

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks to assets and processes including, but not limited to:
    • Electrical reconnect / disconnect.
    • Response to and rectification of equipment failure.
    • Fault finding of the process.
    • Basic maintenance tasks to remedy faults.
    • Installation and augmentation of assets/plant/installations.
    • Maintenance and Fault finding of assets/plant/installations.
    • Carry out Programmed Maintenance & minor works.
    • Commissioning & de-commissioning of assets/plant/installations.
    • Provide technical support to engineers and production personnel.
  • Foster a culturally aware, inclusive, engaged and high-performance team that supports a values-based workplace culture
  • Empower team members to make and own decisions and respectfully challenge and support each other.
  • Participation in rostering which ensures efficient and continuous operation of critical infrastructure.
  • The MECS teams will work collaboratively, supporting each other’s disciplines to enhance efficiency, share expertise, and ensure seamless integration of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Fostering collaborative engagement with external trade stakeholders to ensure efficient performance of services and minor works projects.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership, create a positive work environment and promote best practice in the workplace
  • Ensure all decisions are made with commercial considerations.
  • Contribute to the all overall management of the team budget
  • Foster positive relationship with apprentices to drive enhanced trade skills of apprentices.
  • Successful applicants must obtain and maintain a satisfactory critical infrastructure background check in accordance with AusCheck requirements (mandatory)

About You

  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current Electrical Licence
  • 3 Years’ experience in the Water industry of similar industry
  • Experience with plant and equipment associated with wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
  • Sound knowledge of computer maintenance management systems
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of SCADA
  • Experience working to strict set of quality systems
  • Capable of inspection, testing, adjustment and repairs of electrical equipment
  • Practical experience with pressure and flow instruments
  • Instrumentation & Control fault finding ability
  • Willingness to upskill and undertake additional training for ongoing development
