Join our Maintenance team supporting our Aurora in Fort McMurray and help Maintain our Shovel Fleet! We’re looking for experienced Journeyperson Electricians who thrive in dynamic industrial environments and take pride in safely maintaining a wide range of equipment to deliver reliable, top-tier performance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five years of trade experience as a fully qualified Journeyperson in a large industrial facility
  • Previous experience with Mining Equipment with a focus on shovels
  • A valid Alberta Journeyperson certified or Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician certificate
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Accountabilities:

  • Execute planned maintenance and response work and maintain equipment history
  • Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide spectrum of electrical equipment and machinery
  • Maintain, test and ensure the functionality of electrical equipment protection systems, safety systems, emergency shutdown (ESD) equipment, and backup systems
  • Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems, participate in failure analysis discussions, develop and plan jobs, which includes material assessment and selection
  • Assist other maintenance and operations teammates to ensure equipment reliability

Location & other key details

  • You will work out of our Syncrude Aurora Mining site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. To learn more about living and working in Fort McMurray, click here
