Summary: The Maintenance Electrician Seasonal worker will obtain experience and knowledge of Industrial Maintenance at a food manufacturing plant. Seasonal Electrician’s time will be split between dedicated training, various general labor tasks, and assisting the Maintenance Utilities Team with whatever tasks are required. Training involves theoretical review, hands on learnings with experienced utilities maintenance technicians, and periodic reviews. Most of the seasonal time will be spent under the guidance of an experienced Maintenance Utilities Technician who will be serving as a training lead technician, under the direction of the Assistant Maintenance Utilities Manager. The seasonal Electrician will also have some dedicated time for training with PLC technicians and HVAC technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate service or replace electronic devices and systems.

· Determines need for, analyzes and makes necessary running adjustments, repairs and overhauls.

· Installs, repairs and maintains power distribution cables splicing pieces as required.

· Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.

· Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.

· Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.

· Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.

· Fabricates parts if not commercially available using machine and hand tools common to the trade.

· Notifies coworkers of potentially dangerous electrical equipment.

· Adheres to safety, food safety, quality and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.

· Reports safety, food safety, and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Education and/or Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED;

· Currently enrolled in Elect-Tech program from junior technical college or vocational school;

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Possess valid state motor vehicle operator's permit and company issued permit to operate electrician's cart, forklift truck, scissors lift and bucket truck.
