The Electrician 2 is responsible for performing residential, commercial, and industrial wiring, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of company-owned equipment and buildings under moderate supervision. This role requires a skill set demonstrating increasing independence and proficiency.

Responsibilities of Position:

  • Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of service equipment and wiring with moderate supervision
  • Install new residential, commercial, and industrial service equipment under the guidance of senior management
  • Assist in supervising Electrical Contractors on projects as directed by the Electrical Department Foreman
  • Maintain accurate daily time sheets
  • Maintain and ensure the safe operating condition of assigned equipment and tools in accordance with company policy and OSHA regulations
  • Perform skilled electrical maintenance and repair in a safe manner, complying with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
  • Maintain professional interactions with internal and external customers
  • Maintain open communication with Management
  • Follow all company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position will not manage employees

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:

  • Capable of using all electrical testing equipment and electrical tools.
  • Ability to make code-compliant and safe repairs and installations with moderate supervision
  • Ability to work at different heights with necessary safety equipment
  • Must be available to be on-call
  • Requires out-of-town overnight stays
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing job priorities

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of commercial and industrial electrical experience
  • Motor control experience is a plus
  • Experience bending and installing Rigid and EMT conduit is a plus
  • Proficiency with National Electrical Codes and OSHA regulations
  • Completion or enrolled in a formal apprenticeship, preferred

Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:

  • Continuously lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs
  • Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs
  • Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs
  • Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
  • Frequently working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
  • Continuously stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
  • Continuously climbing and/or balancing
  • Continuously sitting/standing/walking

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
