ChristianaCare is looking for a full-time Electrician in Newark, Delaware to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair branch electrical circuit systems and electrically powered building equipment at multiple locations
Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, maintains and repairs branch circuit systems and associated house equipment, including lighting, automatic systems, industrial equipment, and selected hardwired office and medical equipment.
Diagnose electrical problems using appropriate testing devices and repair faults in a timely manner.
Respond to all maintenance requests and emergency electrical issues across properties.
Repairs and maintains associated heating and HVAC system electrical components, building automation systems, motor control centers, and other electrically powered building equipment.
Repairs and maintains portable equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance checks and routine inspections on facility systems and equipment.
Installs new circuits and electrical systems for various maintenance and modernization projects.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to OSHA standards and established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance schedules.
Coordinate with end users, maintenance staff, and contractors to complete projects and upgrades.
Performs other related duties typical of building maintenance and repair including minor plumbing, carpentry and HVAC equipment
Assists other trades as needed to complete a task or project
On-Call responsibilities
Hours: Day Shift 7am-3:30pm - On Call Rotation
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of four (4) years Trade School and Journeyman certification.
Four (4) years experience in electrical work.
Special requirements:
Journeyman Electrician certification.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
Knowledge of prescribed electrical procedures and methods governed by the National Electric Code.
Knowledge of electrical distribution and branch circuit systems.
Knowledge of fundamentals of electrical instrumentation.
Knowledge of CCHS and department policies and procedures.
Skill in analytical thinking and mechanical, problem solving.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to solve electrical problems associated with electrical systems and components.
Ability to operate drills, saws, electrical tools, pipe cutters, threaders, benders, electrical test equipment and power tools.
Ability to utilize vendor documentation for troubleshooting components.
Ability to handle emergency situations and react quickly and effectively.
Ability to read and work from blueprints and specifications.
Ability to effectively organize work assignments.
Physical demands:
Walking, lifting, bending, stooping, climbing and reaching
Working conditions:
Exposure to chemical fumes, soot, dust, heat, noise, and danger of electric shock

This position has a starting rate of $35.12 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $39.43 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $43.73.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
