Job Description

Electrician I - Kennesaw, GA

Nature & Scope
The Licensed Maintenance Technician (Electrician) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and general facility equipment. This role requires a valid, active Class II Georgia Electrical License to ensure all electrical work is performed safely, legally, and in compliance with state and local codes. The technician will also support general maintenance functions across the facility.

This position requires the ability to independently identify maintenance-related problems, determine potential solutions, and decide when to contact external resources or escalate issues to the Maintenance Manager. When the Maintenance Manager is not on site, the Maintenance Electrician must be self-reliant in managing maintenance tasks and ensuring that plant operations, facilities, and grounds continue smoothly. Success in this role requires advanced technical skills, strong time management, and the ability to mentor less experienced team members while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

  • Schedule and oversee contractors performing work on-site, ensuring adherence to ADM policies and applicable regulations.
  • Manage universal waste (e.g., batteries, light bulbs, and other regulated waste materials) in accordance with ADM policies and applicable environmental regulations.
  • Operate and maintain all assigned equipment (packaging, encapsulation, blending, etc.) safely and efficiently, demonstrating an all-around understanding of plant systems and processes.
  • Perform facility and grounds maintenance tasks, including repairs, inspections, and upkeep of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.), landscaping, and general grounds care.
  • Incorporates a "clean-as-you-go" approach, tidying up during maintenance tasks and addressing workspace organization as part of their workflow. This minimizes operational downtime by maintaining a clean and functional environment for production.
  • Report equipment, facility, or operational maintenance needs to the Maintenance Manager and plant leadership using standard reporting protocols.
  • Safely handle, store, and segregate food-grade chemicals and materials from non-food-grade chemicals to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure maintenance activities are conducted in alignment with safety, quality, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace, including housekeeping of maintenance areas.
