Join our Heating Installation Team in this newly created role and help shape the future of our service. As an Electrician, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality heating installations and upgrades that improve our customers' homes, comfort and wellbeing.

Working alongside heating engineers and installation teams, you'll carry out electrical work associated with boilers, heat pumps and heating controls, helping to deliver modern, energy-efficient heating solutions across our communities. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Electrician with strong knowledge of electrical installations, testing and inspection, Health & Safety regulations, and domestic and commercial electrical systems. You'll be a confident problem-solver with a flexible approach and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.

A full UK driving licence and a basic DBS check (funded by Gentoo) are required for this role.

What you will be doing:

Carry out electrical works associated with heating installations, including boilers, heat pumps and heating controls, including Y Plan and S Plan installations.

Diagnose and resolve electrical faults during installation projects.

Work closely with heating engineers and site teams to support seamless project delivery.

Complete all required electronic certification in line with Group requirements, British Standards and relevant regulatory bodies.

Ensure all work meets the requirements of the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and Gentoo standards.

Deliver work safely, efficiently and to agreed timescales.

Keep Line Managers informed of progress and the status of works.

Participate in the Emergency Out of Hours Service rota as required.

Support the Electrical Repairs Team with domestic and commercial electrical work when required to meet business demands.

What you will bring:

Demonstrable ability to carry out electrical installations, repairs, maintenance and testing as required by the Group and in accordance with relevant specifications, standards and Regulatory bodies.

Served a recognised (Indentured) Electrical apprenticeship with City & Guilds 2361 part 1 & 2 or equivalent or NVQ Level 3.

Be fully conversant and competent to carry out works in accordance with the current Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations/BS7671 plus all ongoing revisions.

City and Guilds 2391-52 or equivalent - Initial and Periodic Inspection and

testing, and evidence of a minimum of 2 years’ experience in periodic inspection and testing as per NICEIC requirements.

Proven ability to carry out inspection, testing and certification to current BS 7671:2018 Regulations as amended.

Completed an AM2 Practical trade test qualification.

Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety Regulations.

Ability to carry out minor building and plumbing works associated with electrical works, for example, minor plaster patching/making good and connecting water supplies to showers.
