Electrician - Enugu

Location: Enugu, Nigeria
Industry: Healthcare
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₦150,000 – ₦200,000 Monthly
Experience Required: 3 – 5 Years

We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Electrician to oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and power infrastructure within a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical expertise, excellent reporting skills, and experience in procurement and inventory management of electrical materials and equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted power supply, maintaining electrical safety standards, preparing technical reports, and supporting procurement activities related to electrical maintenance and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation & Maintenance

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and wiring.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations and power systems.
  • Maintain and service generators, ATS panels, transformers, inverters, UPS systems, distribution boards, and other electrical infrastructure.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and implement timely and effective solutions.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential hazards and maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure all electrical systems operate efficiently and comply with regulatory standards.

Power Management

  • Monitor power generation and distribution systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain generator performance logs and power consumption records.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, outages, and equipment failures.
  • Support energy management initiatives and recommend efficiency improvements.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare detailed maintenance reports, incident reports, and technical assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, equipment performance, and maintenance schedules.
  • Generate periodic reports on electrical system status, downtime, and improvement recommendations.
  • Document all electrical projects and maintenance activities in accordance with organizational procedures.

Procurement & Inventory Management

  • Identify and forecast electrical material requirements.
  • Prepare technical specifications and requisitions for electrical equipment and spare parts.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers regarding procurement of electrical components.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of critical electrical materials.
  • Verify quality and specifications of procured electrical equipment and supplies.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
  • Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in facility safety and maintenance audits.

Qualifications

  • HND, OND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional technical certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience maintaining generators, inverters, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Prior experience within a healthcare, manufacturing, industrial, or large commercial environment is preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Expertise in generator maintenance and power management systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
